Fort Pierce Restaurants- The Rooster in the Garden
Now that season is over I got out and visited one of the new Fort Pierce restaurants downtown. The Rooster in the Garden is located at 100 Second Street in the Galleria of Pierce Harbor. I’ve watched as the building renovation has lasted over a year but the final product is well worth the wait. We ventured out of Ocean Village on Hutchinson Island to try the new restaurant. It was a little breezy this evening but decide to sit outside in the garden. It was a pleasurable experience with the gas lanterns and the music being piped out to the garden. We were quickly approached by a waiter who was well dressed and wore the nicely pressed apron who took our order. I had a Corona and my wife had a glass of wine. Both were very reasonably priced so we sat and enjoyed our drinks before ordering dinner.
Everything from the tables and chairs to the silverware was first class. The garden had flowers on each table and you never would have known you were sitting in Fort Pierce. The menu featured plenty of entree choices from seafood, chicken and beef. I choose the 1/2 organic chicken breast which came with vegetables and a spinach mix. My partner ordered a fresh fish dish and we sat and enjoyed the outside garden.
Once it arrived the presentation was first class. It not only looked spectacular but smelled just as good. The first tastes and I was very impressed. Being a part time resident of Ocean Village I reside in Jupiter and my expectations were high. I’ve been to many of the local restaurants and the food is average. The food at the Rooster in the Garden deserved 5 stars and has brought Fort Pierce to a new level in restaurants. The restaurant is being supplied by local farmers and is geared as a farm to table restaurant theme. The beef is from the Adams Ranch here in Fort Pierce Florida.
The sister restaurant the Bradford Steakhouse is scheduled to open sometime in the near future and it will be on my bucket list next time I’m here in Ocean Village for a weekend. The entire dinner experience was first class even though it has only been open a short time. Inside the restaurant was full and everyone seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere and the dining experience.
After dinner we strolled around the galleria which features shops at the perimeter of the restaurant. They had an ice cream and chocolate shop, a few clothing stores and a jewelry shop. Several other stores looked like they were getting ready to open. Overall it was a pleasurable evening at one of the new Fort Pierce restaurants downtown. It’s nice to see new places to go when we are visiting Hutchinson Island Florida.
